What Makes It Unique?
At 5,895 metres, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain. Its volcanic landscape and changing ecological zones take climbers from cultivated land and forest to alpine environments and the summit of Kibo.
Communities Around the Attraction:
The Chagga are among the main communities around Mount Kilimanjaro. Agriculture, coffee production, guiding, accommodation and tourism provide important local livelihoods.
Best Time to Visit:
January to March and June to October are generally among the best periods for trekking. Mountain weather can change quickly, so proper preparation and professional guiding are essential.
